Isn't it amazing that George Carlin - comedian of the 70's and 80's - could write something so very eloquent...and so very appropriate.

A Message by George Carlin:

The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.

We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.

We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.

We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.

We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.

These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom.

Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.

Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.

Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.

Remember, to say, 'I love you' to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. An embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.

Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.

Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:

-i don't even know where to start
-food sucks ( ironically we were in penang)- my bread has mold in it
- service apartment sucks ( had to walk down the stairs most of the time.. and we girls were wearing heels most of the time, and even had to walk down when we were wearing our outfit for costume night and gala night)
- everything was so messy
-DJ sucked eggs ( when he said pump up the music, he played celine dion's music)
- during gala night, there was no dance floor
-on the first day, it was havoc!!!!!!! not to say boring!
-the t-shirts they gave is in pale yellow!
-OH YA! almost forgot
- We had to be transported from the service apartment to some hall everytime we had a function. talk about low class. my gosh.

On the last night, me, su-zen, yee leng, su yi and zhi ling were at the guy's room.. Matt, jash, dillon, wei qing, harris, mark, and neeraj was there.. We figured. since it was out last night, we should just get together and talk and have fun. We were barely doing anything actually. So, we didn't expect the security to be so tight that night.. There were Lion's walking everywhere and we couldn't get back to our room without getting caught. So, all the girls hid in the bathroom with dillon( pretending to shower). We had sooooo many false alarms and there were leo's disguising themselves as SPIES! damn shit.

We were all still in the toilet, sudden;y, we heard heels clocking outside.. IT was a LION!!!! so we all kept quiet and prayed. All the guys were cracking their head to figure out a plan to get us back to the room.

We all were damn scared. and i was claustrophoabic. Plus the steam from the shower was making it hard for us to breathe. So jash came up with this plan, they all emptied their drinking bottle and then told us the plan.

jash: ok, we're gonna act as if you guys ran out of water, and you didn't know where to refill, so you woke me up and ask me to follow.

we all crept to the staircase and went to the second floor. we bumped into a coupple of lions but they saw the water bottles.

So we acted to the lions and they bought it. so we quickly went back to our room... We were so relieved! Then we spent almost an hour just talking about what happened. It was truly a memorable moment la. It was funny too, thinking back on how terrified we were.

This is a personal account of a ghost story that occurred over 10 years ago.
This "true experience" firm supported my theory that our departed loved ones can convey messages through dreams.

Back in 1989, being a fresh graduate Psychology graduate, I landed a job in
the personnel department in one of the government offices in Quezon City. A male co-worker, Jun, was 11 years older than me. He became one of my friends while working there. Jun was king, loving, and romantic. He was the breadwinner of his family. His parents and relatives liked me a lot. Being single and unattached, he courted me in 1990. I accepted his marriage proposal during the latter part of that year.

My parents did not approve of our relationship and when the first quarter of 1991 came, my parents made me quit my job. My dad, being a military man, even threatened Jun to Jun to stay away from me. To make our long story short, I left my job. I lost track of Jun I involve myself with the family business. Basically, I went on with my life and tried to forget about him.

On the morning of June 2, 1994 I received a telegram from his aunt, saying that Jun had died the day before June1, 1994. Shocked I crumpled the short note and hurriedly phoned his aunt for confirmation. She told me that when we parted, Jun resigned from his job and drunk heavily each day. He neglected his death as well as his body. Pneumonia had caused his sudden death. "You know Jun. Everyday and up to his remaining hours, all her wanted was to see you. During his final moments, while suffering from delirium, he even told us that he still loves you very much," Jun's aunt said.

Sadly, my parents wouldn't allow me to go to his wake. I mourned quietly inside my room. There even came a point where I convinced myself that he wasn't dead.

On January 1995, just before my birthday, Jun visited me in a dream. I dreamed that I was inside a hospital room. I was wearing a hospital gown and I was sitting at the foot of my bed. Jun suddenly appeared before me, clothed in bright lights. We communicated mentally. I told him it wasn't true that he was gone. He replied that I must accept the fact that he was already dead but it didn't mean that he as leaving me. "I will always be beside you, guarding you," he said

I cried saying, "I'm sorry I didn't have the guts to fight for our relationship."

He comforted me and soothed me by shrouding me with his bright light. The bliss I felt was interrupted by voice calling hi name "It's time for me to go," he told me. "But what about me?" I asked, tears in my eyes. " I will be here for you always," he replied,"and I will be waiting for you there. And don't ever forget that love you very much."



After saying this, he vanished before my eyes. I woke up crying. After this accident, I finished began to accept his death. And whenever I'm depressed I feel his presence beside me I know somehow out there he's still waiting patienly for me.
